A Kansas City manufacturer of APP modified bitumen roofing membranes sold under the DERBIGUM and DERBICOLOR names, along with base sheets, self-adhered sheets, vapor barriers, liquid-applied and vegetative roofing products. The company traces the DERBIGUM membrane to Imperbel of Brussels, Belgium, which imported APP-modified asphalt membrane technology from Italy in the early 1970s, and states its American manufacturing operation was built in Kansas City in 1980. SOPREMA, Inc. acquired DERBIGUM Americas, Inc. in August 2018, and its name was changed to Performance Roof Systems, Inc., A SOPREMA Group Company, in January 2022.
