The company describes the technology as German in origin, used since 1972, and brought to North America in 2002, and says its mats are grown for 9 to 12 months on farms across North America with every component North American-made. It states that XeroFlor set a Guinness world record in 2004 for the largest green roof, on the Ford Rouge plant in Dearborn, Michigan.
