A manufacturer of water-based asphalt emulsions, acrylic elastomeric reflective coatings, sealants, primers and polyester reinforcing fabrics used to build Fluid Applied Reinforced Roofing (FARR) systems, which it describes as seamless membranes of asphalt emulsion or acrylic coating reinforced with polyester fabric and applied mostly over existing BUR, modified bitumen, single-ply, metal, sprayed foam and gravel roofs. The company says its founder was a fluid-applied roofing contractor from the 1960s and that the Western Colloid brand began in the 1970s when he built his own manufacturing facilities. Its contact page lists a Los Angeles location and plant, an Oakland location, pick-up locations in Santa Ana and Glendale, Arizona, and a Dallas/Fort Worth location in Alvarado, Texas; it also makes asphalt sealcoats under the ArmorTop pavement name.
