A water-based, non-fibered asphaltic bentonite clay emulsion used as a roof surfacing and as the waterproofing compound in cold-process built-up and Fluid Applied Reinforced Roofing systems, embedded with polyester or fiberglass reinforcement. The technical bulletin says it meets ASTM D1227 Type III and D1187, lists 45-50% total solids, a 50 degree F minimum application temperature and a 3 to 6 gallon per 100 sq. ft. rate, and notes it may be called Glas-Shield Compound as the principal component of the Glas-Shield roof system. It serves as a base coat for the maker's #525 SilverWhite aluminum and ElastaHyde acrylic reflective coatings and is sold in pails, drums, totes and bulk tankers.
