THE 2021 INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE, WITH A CODIFIED, NUMBERED AMENDMENT LIST. Its history note cites Ord. No. O-15-15 (March 2, 2015) and Ord. No. O-24-07, Section 9 (February 19, 2024); the code text read was codified through Ord. No. O-26-15 (May 14, 2026). Sec. 14-352 was read in full. Its 18 items amend R101.1 and R101.2; delete R103, R104.8, R104.8.1, R104.10, R105.3.2, R105.5, R108.2, R108.5, R112, R113.2 through R113.4, R114 and R313.2; rewrite R105.2, work exempt from permit; amend R105.3.1.1 (flood hazard areas) and R106.3.2; insert the City's Table R301.2 design criteria; and amend or delete plumbing sections P2603.5.1, P2904.1.1, P2910 through P2913 and P3009. NONE OF THEM TOUCHES THE IRC'S ROOF-ASSEMBLIES CHAPTER. A January 16, 2024 council agenda item from the Development Services Department stated, before that adoption, "The City currently utilizes the adopted 2015 edition of the I-Codes," and that staff were completing amendments to adopt the 2021 I-Codes. The City also adopts the International Existing Building Code, 2021 Edition (Sec. 14-391); this record does not describe that code's provisions.

  • city_level: A CITY BUILDING CONTRACTOR'S REGISTRATION, WITH ITS OWN INSURANCE MINIMUM AND ANNUAL FEE. Sec. 14-12: "No building contractor shall do business in whole or in part within the corporate limits of the city without having first registered and received from the city a building contractor's registration." Sec. 14-11 defines a building contractor as any person or entity "engaged in, undertaking, or carrying on any business consisting of or related to the construction, demolition, repair, or renovation of any building, structure, swimming pool or sign." Under Sec. 14-13 the application must include, among other items, the contractor's state license in its area of service "if applicable," and "Proof of comprehensive general liability insurance, held with a company with a rating of B+ or better" with minimum limits of $300,000.00 for death or bodily injury and $300,000.00 for property damage, per occurrence. Sec. 14-14 sets an annual fee by council resolution, and every registration expires on the September 30 following initial registration. Sec. 14-16 lets the director of development services revoke or suspend a registration, and requires written notice and a hearing before the city manager prior to a revocation.
