XF 499 Mineral Wool is the water retention layer XeroFlor places under the vegetation layer in its XF + MW and XF + TR green roof systems, always installed on top of a drainage layer. It is a stone wool made mainly from basalt, diabase and dolomite with no organic or inorganic binders or fiber coatings. The data sheet prints 3.28 ft x 16.4 ft rolls (53.8 ft2), a thickness of 1.02 in, a density of 8.43 lb/ft3, a weight of 0.72 lb/ft2 dry and 5.65 lb/ft2 saturated, and a water capacity above 93 percent.
