Veral is Siplast's aluminum-clad, glass mat/glass scrim reinforced SBS-modified bitumen sheet, used as the finish ply of Veral multi-layer modified bitumen roof systems over an Irex 40 base sheet and also as a flashing sheet. It is preferably torch-applied but can be set in SFT Adhesive in approved systems. Siplast's history page dates Veral to 1958 and calls it the first foil-faced asphaltic membrane. The Veral page says the sheets meet FM Approvals (FM Standard 4470) for use in Veral Class 1 insulated steel deck constructions and insulated and non-insulated concrete deck constructions, subject to FM conditions and limitations.
