Natural roofing slate produced by Sheldon Slate Products on a custom, made-to-order basis at a standard thickness of 1/4 to 5/16 in. Its published standard sizes run from 24 x 12 in. (114 pieces and 700 lbs per square) down to 12 x 6 in., at roughly 700 to 800 lbs per square, and special sizes are available. The roofing page shows colors including Grey, Variegated Purple, Dark Green, Mottled Purple, Green, Pennsylvania Black, Red, Purple, Light Sea Green, Dark Sea Green, Clear Grey, Grey Black, Dark Grey and Black, and Sheldon describes its slate as non-fading. The published size table lists 12 x 12 in. twice, at 267 and at 320 pieces per square.
