Western Red Cedar shakes from Anbrook Industries, sawn on both faces but thicker than a shingle so they can be applied as a two-ply shake with felt interlay. Anbrook lists Premium 100 percent edge grain tapersawns in 18 in. and 24 in. lengths at 5/8 in. and 3/4 in. thickness, available CCA or fire treated, and suggests an 18 in. tapersawn at a reduced 5 to 5 1/2 in. exposure over a single layer of felt as a three-ply, shingle-style roof. Anbrook states all Number 1 and Premium Grade products carry a 40 year manufacturer's warranty; the warranty document itself lists only the Premium 18 in. Certi-Sawn tapersawn shake.
