Western Red Cedar shakes from Anbrook Industries with a naturally split face and a diagonally sawn, tapered back. Anbrook offers them in Number 1 grade (up to 20 percent flat grain in the bundle) or Premium Grade (100 percent edge grain), as 24 in. and 18 in. shakes in 1/2 in. medium and 3/4 in. heavy butt thickness, with thicker Jumbos cut to order. Anbrook's protection page states that all Number 1 and Premium Grade products carry a 40 year manufacturer's warranty; the warranty document lists the Number 1 24 in. medium and heavy Certi-Split resawn shakes at 40 years, transferable once within seven years for a fee, and void if the roof is power washed or coated.
