Hydrodrain is Hydrotech's family of prefabricated drainage composites, used over its membranes in plaza decks, roof gardens, planters, split-slab decks and below-grade walls to carry water to drains between the membrane and the topping. Hydrodrain 300, 302, 1000 and AL pair a three-dimensional geonet core with a needle-punched non-woven filter fabric and are described as ideal for horizontal installations needing high compressive strength; Hydrodrain 400, 420, 700 and 990 use a dimple-type core with a non-woven filter fabric and are typically used vertically where high flow is wanted. The Ultimate Assembly lists Hydrodrain as an optional drainage layer. The maker's copy differs on the dimple core material: the Hydrodrain web page calls it polypropylene, while the MM6125 brochure calls it polystyrene and describes the geonet core as crush-proof polyethylene.
