GardNet is Hydrotech's growing media confinement component for sloped Garden Roof assemblies, used to retain soil and plants on convex, concave and other complex slopes; vegetation options include plugs with GardMat, InstaGreen Sedum Carpet or Sedum Tile, or lawn sod. The sloped-applications page says GardNet must be used for roof slopes greater than 3:12 with soil depths of 3.5 to 13 in, and that slopes beyond 3:12 require special engineering; the Garden Roof overview page says slopes from 3:12 up to 12:12 are possible for extensive and limited intensive applications. The current Garden Roof brochure instead lists 4 to 13 in of LiteTop media for the slope assembly and says GardNet can accommodate slopes up to 7:12 and beyond, with project-specific engineering required.
