A single-leaf roof hatch sold under the JL Industries brand in galvanneal steel (RHDG, 14 gauge curb and cover with 22 gauge liner, white textured powder coat) or 11 gauge aluminum (RHDA, mill finish). Its single-wall curb and counterflashing use the patented Diamond Grip to secure the roof membrane without tools; it has 1 in. polyisocyanurate (R-6) in curb and cover, a cover tested to a 40 psf live load and a slam latch tested to 50 psf wind uplift. Stock ladder and stair sizes run from 36 x 30 in. to 30 x 96 in., within a 24 x 24 in. minimum and a 48 x 72 in. or 36 x 96 in. maximum, with double-wall curb, taller curb, added curb insulation and stainless hardware options. The submittal notes it suits pitched roofs up to 7:12, and the maker sells the steel model with a bolt-on safety railing and gate as the Saf-T-Hatch.
