Adopted code
Roofing projects must conform to Chapter 15 of the 2015 IBC and IRC per the city's Roofing, Siding and Window Requirements; the published municipal code contains ordinances through ordinance 10-2012.
Drip edge
Required — Not separately amended by the City of Yuma. The City adopts the 2015 IRC by reference (Yuma Municipal Code § 15.10.030) and its lettered amendment list (items A through I, ending cleanly on its own history note "(Ord. 17-2018, 2018)") does not delete or modify R905.2.8.5, so the base IRC drip-edge requirement stands as adopted code.
About drip edge
Ice & water shield
Not required — IRC Table R301.2(1) as amended by item (G) of Yuma Municipal Code § 15.10.030 lists "Ice Shield Underlayment Required No".
About ice & water barrier
Impact-resistant roofing
Not required — Yuma Municipal Code § 15.10.030's amendment list was read in full (lettered items A through I -- title, permit exemptions, a new mid-roof-inspection subsection 109.1.5.2, Table R301.2(1), R313 deletion, and a sewer-depth amendment -- ending cleanly on its own history note "(Ord. 17-2018, 2018)") and contains no UL 2218 or Class 4 impact-resistant-shingle mandate. The City's own Roofing, Siding and Window Requirements handout likewise does not mention impact resistance.
Wind design criteria
IRC Table R301.2(1) as amended by item (G) of Yuma Municipal Code § 15.10.030 (Amendments to the International Residential Code, 2015 IRC): "Ground Snow Load 20" / "Speed(mph) 115 / Topographic Effects [blank] / Special Wind Region No / Windborne Debris Zone [blank]" / "Seismic Design Category B". The printed table leaves the Topographic Effects and Windborne Debris Zone cells blank.
Sales & use tax
6.65% combined (state 2.9% + Yuma County 0%, Yuma County levies no county-level sales tax + City of Yuma 3.75%). The January 2026 DR 1002 prints Yuma's city row at 3.75% with a 3.75% use tax on motor vehicles and building materials, the roofing-relevant figure; this corrects an earlier 5.9% figure built on the 3% rate printed in the June 2019 edition.
