I read Iowa City Code Title 17, Chapter 1 (Building Code) live - 17-1-1 (Codes Adopted) and 17-1-3 (Amendments To Code), in a code current through Ord. 26-4985, passed May 19, 2026. Section 17-1-3 is the city's complete set of local amendments to the adopted 2024 IBC and 2024 IRC, and I enumerated every IRC section it touches: R101.1, R105.2, R108.3, R108.5, R108.6, R108.7, R112, R202, R302.5.1, R302.13, R306, R309, R310.1, R310.7, R316, R319.6, R319.7, R322.1, R322.4, R328, R403.1.4.1, R404.1.1, R507.10.2 and R807.1, plus Table R301.2(1) - twenty-four sections and one table. NOT ONE IS IN IRC CHAPTER 9 (Roof Assemblies). Iowa City makes no local roof-assembly amendment whatsoever, and the words "impact," "hail," "Class 4" and "UL 2218" return zero matches anywhere in 17-1-3. TWO FIGURES CHANGED MATERIALLY from the superseded 2009-edition table that a roofer or estimator may still encounter in older Iowa City documents, and carrying those forward would be an error: ground snow load rose from 25 psf to 34 psf, and the wind figure moved from 90 mph to 109 mph.
