Sec. 22-1: "The Town hereby adopts, by reference as if fully set forth in this Code, the International Residential Code, 2024 Edition, including all Appendix Chapters and regulations thereto, as published by the International Code Council, Inc., excepting those provisions that are modified or deleted by the Residential Amendments and as otherwise provided in this Section." The 14 Residential Amendments name, in order, Table R302.1 (exterior walls, deleted), R309.2 (one- and two-family dwelling automatic sprinkler systems, deleted), the exception to R312.2 Minimum Dimensions (deleted), the word "Bathrooms" in the last sentence of R313.1 (deleted), R313.1.2 (habitable attics and basements in existing buildings, deleted), R315.1, R315.2 and R315.3 (sleeping lofts, deleted), R317.5 (fire sprinklers, deleted), R318.2 (not less than two egress doors per dwelling unit), the exceptions to 319.1 (emergency escape and rescue openings), R319.7 (alterations or repairs of existing basements), R404.0 (wood foundations not permitted) and R1006.6 (ventless or vent-free fireplaces prohibited). Sec. 22-1 also provides: "If any provision of the International Residential Code, 2024 Edition or the Residential Amendments is in conflict with any provision of any code, ordinance, rule or regulation of the Town, the more stringent regulation will apply; provided, however, the Cicero Building Commissioner and/or the Cicero Fire Chief may waive the more stringent requirement if said waiver would be beneficial to the health, safety or welfare of the Town or its residents."
