The trade association of steel roof deck and floor deck manufacturers, founded in 1939, whose members' roof deck is primarily used to support overlying roofing materials. It develops uniform industry standards for the design, manufacture and field use of steel deck, including standards adopted by the building codes, and publishes design and construction manuals, technical notes and design tools. Its producing members operate certified deck plants in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
