THE CITY ADOPTS NO EDITION OF ITS OWN; ITS ADOPTION IS EXPRESSLY FLOATING. Section 152.07(A) adopts the building rules of the Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission in the listed articles of Title 675 of the Indiana Administrative Code, and says they "shall include later amendments to those articles as the same are published in the Indiana Register or the Indiana Administrative Code with effective dates as fixed therein". The list includes Article 14, the One and Two Family Dwelling Codes. The section was last amended by Ord. 29, 2011, passed December 5, 2011. So Peru tracks whatever Article 14 is as published from time to time. On the Indiana Register's listing of Article 14 as read on 2026-09-11, the rule in force is Rule 4.4, the 2020 Indiana Residential Code, which adopts and amends the 2018 International Residential Code. Chapter 152 writes no roofing amendment to it: read in full, it contains no technical roof-covering provision at all, and its only roofing lines are fees. TWO OLDER ADOPTIONS SIT BESIDE IT. Section 152.07(A)(1)(e) lists the International Property Maintenance Code under Article 13, and section 152.40 adopts the Uniform Housing Code, 1988 Edition, by reference.
