To obtain the certificate, § 17-25-604(d) requires "(1) A surety bond in the minimum amount of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000); (2) Proof of workers' compensation coverage as required under § 11-9-401 et seq.; and (3) Any other information required by the committee." The certificate expires one year after issuance and the fee is capped at $100 (§ 17-25-609). This roofing-specific registration is a distinct regime from Arkansas's general residential building contractor license (Ark. Code Ann. § 17-25-501 et seq.), which expressly exempts roofing contractors at § 17-25-513(6): "A person or entity performing work as a roofing contractor as defined under § 17-25-601 et seq." is exempted from that general subchapter's licensing requirement.
