Zincoblend is ZinCo's family of engineered growing media for its green roof build-ups, delivered by bulk trailer, super sack or small bag. Zincoblend E is for extensive roofs with ZinCo's extensive plant communities (dry density 40 to 60 lb per cu ft, 65 to 85 lb per cu ft at maximum water capacity of about 40% by volume, pH 6.5 to 8.0); Zincoblend I is for intensive roofs with perennials, shrubs and trees (dry density 35 to 55 lb per cu ft, maximum water capacity about 50% by volume), with the mineral aggregate Zincoblend M added below media deeper than 14 in; ZinCo's system pages also specify Zincoblend M as infill for Floradrain elements and Zincoblend F for rooftop farming. The data sheets give guiding values tested at Penn State University according to the FLL guidelines and ASTM E 2399-05, and call for an even depth with a 0.5 in tolerance and a settlement factor of 1.2.
