Root Barrier WSB 100-PO is ZinCo's hot-air-welded root and rhizome barrier for extensive and especially intensive green roofs, a bitumen-resistant, low-temperature-flexible sheet of flexible polyolefin (FPO) with polyester weft-inserted reinforcement, which the data sheet says is root proof and rhizome proof against couch grasses under the German FLL method of 2002. It is laid above a non-root-resistant waterproofing with welded seams overlapped at least 2 in and taken up above the growing media at edges. The sheet is about 0.04 in (1.1 mm) thick, about 0.23 lb per square foot, with a grab breaking strength of about 337 lbf under ASTM D751, and comes in 10 ft x 100 ft rolls with a 2 ft flashing roll and molded inside and outside corners as accessories.
