Products / ZinCo Perennial Garden Green Roof System

Perennial Garden is ZinCo's simple intensive (semi-intensive) green roof build-up for perennials, drought-tolerant herbs such as thyme, oregano and lavender, ornamental grasses and small shrubs. It pairs the Floradrain FD 40-E drainage and water retention element with about 5 in of Zincoblend I growing media over an SSM 45 protection mat and optional WSF 40 root barrier, with an SF filter sheet between drainage and media. The maker prints a build-up height of about 6 3/4 in, a saturated weight of about 42 lb per square foot and water storage of about 1.8 gal per square foot, says it needs only moderate maintenance, and notes that extra irrigation may be needed in dry seasons.
