ZinCo Floradrain
Floradrain is ZinCo's line of thermoformed recycled polyolefin (mainly PE) drainage and water retention elements laid on a protection mat beneath the growing media of its green roof build-ups, with cups that hold water and diffusion openings that pass it on. The FD 25-E (about 1.0 in high, about 0.3 lb per square foot, about 0.1 gal per square foot of retention, about 40 psi compressive strength unfilled, 3.3 ft x 6.6 ft) is the walkable, low-profile element for extensive roofs; the FD 40-E (about 1.6 in, about 0.12 gal per square foot, about 24.7 psi unfilled and 36.3 psi filled) is for extensive and semi-intensive roofs with or without slope; and the FD 60 neo (about 2.4 in, about 0.32 gal per square foot with infill, 3.4 ft x 7.5 ft) is for intensive roofs and roof landscapes, can be used with dam-up irrigation on 0 degree roofs and as permanent formwork under driveways and foundations. The data sheets print in-plane flow rates at 1, 2 and 3% slope and say the elements must be fully covered and not left exposed to UV light; the FD 60 neo is filled with Zincoblend M in planted areas, while the FD 25-E and FD 40-E are laid cups up under planting and turned over and infilled (with Zincoblend M or coarse sand) under hard landscaping.
