Engineered flashing kits that seal VELUX unit skylights into the roof without relying on sealants. Deck-mounted kits are the EDL for shingles and shakes (step flashing pieces interweave with the roofing; additional ZZZ 200 step pieces are required for shakes and other thick materials), the EDW for tile (a patented pleated sill flashing that forms to most tile, with side and head pieces forming a gutter; not available for the VSS) and the EDM for metal roofing (pieces interlock with the roofing and the sill apron has pliable pleats). Curb-mounted kits are the ECL for shingles and shakes and the ECW for tile (not available for the VCS). Adhesive underlayment is included in the shingle kits. VELUX states the kits must be purchased with the skylights and installed properly to benefit from its warranty; its limited warranty covers flashings distributed by VELUX for 10 years against defects in material and workmanship.
