A tubular daylighting device that carries light from a roof-mounted dome or flat glass down a rigid, highly reflective tunnel to a ceiling diffuser, sized to fit between ceiling framing. The rigid line is sold as the pitched TMR, the low-profile TGR, the flat-glass TLR (14 in. rigid only), the curb-mounted TCR (one-piece metal curb flashing with an acrylic or polycarbonate low-profile dome) and the Wildfire TZR, TZRL and TZRQ, whose tempered diamond-wire flat glass VELUX states passes an ASTM E108 Class A Burn Brand Test; the TZR suits tile, shingle and metal roofs (metal-roof flashing not supplied by VELUX) and the TZRL and TZRQ shingle roofs only. VELUX offers impact models of the TMR and TGR for hurricane-prone areas and describes a 99.99% silver reflective layer with total reflectance above 98%. Its limited warranty gives 10 years on Sun Tunnel skylights against defects in material and workmanship and 20 years on the rigid tunnel's reflective material.
