Uniflex Acrylic Rust Inhibitive Primer (36-520, white) is a waterborne acrylic bonding and corrosion-resistant primer for metal roof surfaces, including galvanized metal, iron, steel and pre-finished fluorocarbon (Kynar) metal roofing. Its data sheet gives 42 percent volume solids, a 3.0 dry mil film at 250 square feet per gallon and a VOC under 50 g/l, and says it must be top coated within 90 days. It is a base for Uniflex acrylic and urethane coatings and is marked not for use with silicone coatings. It is sold in 5 gallon pails.
