Premium III (a steep asphalt) and Premium IV (a special steep asphalt) are hot-melt roofing asphalts processed from asphalt flux; each data sheet states the product exceeds ASTM D312. They are used as thermoplastic hot-melt interply or flood-coat adhesives in built-up and SBS modified bitumen roof systems, and to adhere approved insulations. Both are sold in 100 lb cartons by the pallet, and Pak-Free versions of each are packaged in meltable polyethylene film with a low-odor additive so the package goes into the kettle unwrapped.
