ELS is a heavily fibrated, asphalt-based roof cement blended with penetrating oils and plasticizing agents, and the data sheet states it complies with ASTM D4586, Type II, Class I. It is used to repair flashings and built-up roof defects such as blisters, cracks and punctures, and to adhere new asphalt ply and modified bitumen flashings. It is supplied black in 5 gal and 2 gal containers for trowel application; Tremco also lists an ELS Winter Grade on its own product page.
