The D-series Deck Mount snow fence brackets (D1H, D2HL, D2HH, D3H, D4H and extended, corrugated, log and timber variants) bolt into the structural roof member, such as a truss or rafter, on most stick-framed roofs. The D2HL is a two-tube bracket that accepts 1 inch (1.315 inch OD) fence tube, installs with four 3/8 inch lag bolts or four 1/4 inch SDS screws, measures 8 in L x 2 in W x 7.50 in H and weighs 3.5 pounds, and is listed for asphalt shingles, cedar shingles, flat seam metal, granule metal, metal panel, slate, simulated slate and wood shakes. Its data sheet requires every penetration through the underlayment to be flashed or sealed. Materials are zinc-coated steel, copper and weathering steel.
