Polyprene is a gray, heavily plasticized and fibered rubber repair compound, containing no bitumen, for sealing flashings, seams, cracks, vents, chimneys, skylights, pitch pockets, copings and equipment mounts, sold in brush grade, trowel grade and caulk tubes, with PolyCore membrane where reinforcement is needed and a separate grade for EPDM and PVC roofs. Its technical data sheet lists 850 percent elongation, 600 psi minimum tensile strength, 66 percent total solids, VOC under 350 g/L and a -40 to 140 degree F service range, and the maker compares it with ordinary asphalt cements.
