Factory fabricated sheet steel equipment rails for placement on roof systems to carry rooftop heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, with internal bulkheads welded at intervals along the rail and a continuous wood nailer under a removable counterflashing for attaching roofing felts. Three styles are made: TEMS-1 for insulated roof decks with a 3 in. cant and a step matched to the deck insulation, TEMS-2 for non-insulated roof decks with a 3 in. cant, and TEMS-3 for all roof decks. The specification calls for prime G-90 galvanized steel, 18 or 14 gauge, meeting ASTM A653/653M, with welded corners, bulkheads 24 in. on center, a factory 2 in. x 4 in. wood nailer and 18 gauge counterflashing. Published load-bearing data covers 18 and 14 gauge supports with 2x4 and 2x6 nailers, and spring isolators are offered as an option.
