Static gravity air vents for roofs: a metal sleeve with integral deck flange, a removable conical hood on three support brackets and an insect screen. Section H of the Thaler catalog lists the GAV-1 (3 in. to 10 in. diameter) and GAV-2 (12 in. to 20 in.) for flat roofs and the GAV-3 and GAV-4 in the same size ranges for sloped roofs, each in aluminum, copper or Type 304 stainless steel, and gives a venting-area guide of 144 sq. in. of free area per 300 sq. ft. The removable hood allows the vented space to be inspected, an optional T-8 cup guards against bitumen drips, and the catalog gives a 20-year warranty against leaks and defects.
