Roof flashings for dryer and washroom exhaust ducts: a double-wall metal sleeve with integral deck flange, a matching screw-fastened removable hood, a pre-molded urethane insulation liner and an EPDM base seal. Section B of the Thaler catalog lists the EVF-1 (slotted collar) and EVF-2 (perforated collar) for flat and low-slope roofs and the EVF-3 and EVF-4 for sloped roofs, for 3 in. to 10 in. vent pipes, in 0.064 in. mill finish 1100-0T aluminum or 24 oz. copper. The cone-shaped hood is designed to send winter condensation outside, and the slotted collar lets lint vent directly for dryer exhaust, though the catalog says it should be checked and cleaned periodically. The catalog cites CSA B272-93 for the versions with the EPDM base seal and gives a 20-year warranty against leaks, condensation and defects when installed to Thaler's instructions.
