Sawn cedar shingles from Teal-Jones in fine-grain western red cedar or Alaskan yellow cedar, the latter weathering to a silver gray. Grades are #1, #2 and #3 in 18-inch Perfections and 24-inch Royals, plus #4 undercoursing, ridge capping and 3-inch builder's shims; the product details sheet prints a 5 1/2-inch exposure for 18-inch Perfections and CCA, Class B and Class C pressure treatments. Teal lists third-party inspection by QAI, UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance and a Miami-Dade NOA for all its cedar products; its application instructions call for two stainless steel fasteners per shingle.
