Asphalt Organic Base Sheets are made from organic mat saturated and coated with asphalt and lightly coated with a mineral release material. The line has three products, all 36 inches wide: 65 Smooth Organic Base Sheet (ASTM D224 Type II, 1-square roll, about 65 lb) and 55 Smooth Organic Base Sheet (ASTM D224 Type III, 1-square roll, about 55 lb), both residential products for use as underlayment or eave and valley flashing, and Organic Base Sheet (#43) (ASTM D2626 and D224 Type I, 2-square roll, about 86 lb) for use as the nailed base ply or as a vapor retarder in commercial asphalt roof systems. The data sheet states the sheets are warranted to be free from manufacturer's defects without printing a duration.
