Synthetic Guard is TAMKO's entry woven synthetic underlayment with a coated polypropylene non-woven surface, a slip-resistant backside coating and printed lay lines and fastener locations, for use under asphalt or composite shingles. The March 2025 data sheet gives a 42 in. x 286 ft. roll (9.06 squares), a 45-day exposure limit and a 10-year limited warranty and arbitration agreement, and its ASTM E108/UL 790 Class A result applies when installed under asphalt shingles. TAMKO's accessories page describes a grey surface and grey backside coating, while the data sheet describes both as black.
