Point Supported Glass Skylight Systems (PSG)

A point-supported structural glass skylight system in which laminated glass lites with silicone-sealed butt-glazed joints are held by 316 series stainless steel spider fittings and ball-joint rotules, with button or countersunk heads, in place of continuous framing. The maker lists a minimum glass thickness of 13/16 in. laminated, fully tempered and heat-soaked lites, a minimum 0.060 in. PVB interlayer and polished exposed edges; optional stainless steel pedestal posts and aluminum rain gutters are offered. The guide specification calls for tempered and heat-strengthened glass to ASTM C1048 and laminated glass meeting ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201, and certifies the system free of design, material and construction defects for five years from skylight completion.
