Photovoltaic Solar Skylights (BIPV Skylight System)
A building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) skylight system that glazes UL listed poly-crystalline, mono-crystalline or thin-film PV panels into the maker's extruded aluminum skylight framing, with internal wiring routed within the framing and an integral condensation gutter system. Configurations listed are single slope, ridge and pyramid skylights, and an optional balance-of-system design covers the array wiring, combiner and junction boxes and inverters. The maker states it was the first company with a UL Classified BIPV mounting system, and the guide specification calls for the UL classification mark on a major component, no water penetration when tested to ASTM E331, framing deflection limits under ASTM E330, and a ten-year frame defect certification from skylight completion, effective only after payment in full.
