Spectra Shield is a gutter cover that slides under the first course of roof shingles and rests on the front lip of the gutter at a 15 to 20 degree downward angle, overlapping 1/2 inch between pieces and secured with 1/2 inch screws. The installation sheet limits it to K-style or ogee gutters and does not recommend it for homes with steel or ceramic tile roofing or for roof pitches greater than 12/12. Outside miters are hand cut and carry no water; inside miters leave a V-shaped opening that is filled with aluminum screening or perforated aluminum. The product catalog page describes the maker's gutter guards under a LeafSeries name (LS-Screen, LS-Lock, LS-Guard and LeafBlok) that does not appear on this sheet.
