SOPRABOARD is a semi-rigid asphaltic cover board for multi-ply SBS modified bitumen membrane and flashing assemblies, also used as a protection board in waterproofing. It has a mineral-fortified asphaltic core formed between two fiberglass reinforcing plies, with asphalt-saturated fiberglass on both faces, and is made in 1/8-inch and 1/4-inch thicknesses in 4 by 4 and 4 by 8 foot boards. It is secured with mechanical fasteners, insulation adhesive or hot asphalt, and the membrane can be heat welded, cold adhered or hot mopped directly to its surface. The product data sheet lists compressive strength by ASTM C472, tensile load and puncture resistance by ASTM E154, and dimensional stability and water absorption by ASTM D994.
