Tube-Lok is Simplex's original "Fish Hook" roofing nail, a hi-carbon steel smooth-shank fastener with a chisel point, hot-dip galvanized, and driven by hand hammer, pole hammer, or the Simplex Tube-Lok fastening tool. It is used to secure base sheets, roof insulation, and recovery board, and to fasten asphalt, aluminum, slate, and tile shingles and metal batten, flat, and standing-seam roofing, and is available with a 1-inch head or a 2-inch or 3-inch head using an added rupture disc. The data sheet reports an APA FFN-105b Type II, Style 20 approval and average pullout resistance, tested in compliance with Dade County Protocol PA 117(A), of 120.2 lbf in lightweight concrete and 364.8 lbf in gypsum.
