MAXX Cap is a pre-assembled base-ply attachment fastener combining two 1-inch annular-ring nails with an integral 3-inch-diameter perforated, flexible polymer stress plate, marketed as the first major advance in base ply attachment in over a decade and installed with the Simplex MAXX Hammer. The data sheet reports static withdrawal resistance under ASTM D1761 of 232 lbf in 15/32-inch plywood and 160 lbf in 15/32-inch OSB, and wind-uplift testing per FM 4474 to Class 90 (at a base-sheet fastening pattern equivalent to a screw and 3-inch metal plate) and per FM 4474/ TAS 114 to Class 105, 180, and 210 with asphalt-applied and torch-applied roof covers. It carries a caution against extended direct-flame exposure when torch-applying roofing over it.
