Deklite DL-SQ1/4 is SFS's non-penetrating, nylon-reinforced fiberglass auger fastener for attaching insulation and membrane to lightweight roof decks (lightweight insulating concrete, poured gypsum or gypsum plank, and Tectum), and must be used with a Deklite stress plate, into which it locks on installation. The data sheet (03/2021) says its tapered root compacts the deck material around it and gives 70 percent more surface area for holding power, lists lengths from 2 to 13 inches with a 1/4 inch square drive (one bit per carton), calls for at least 1 1/2 inches of penetration, recommends field pull-out testing, and prints average ultimate tension loads per ASTM E488 ranging from 280 lbf at 1 1/2 inch embedment in Tectum to 595 lbf at 2 1/2 inches, and 540 lbf in poured gypsum.
