The #12 Dekfast is a #3 Phillips-drive roofing screw with a drill point and 13 threads per inch, intended for attaching insulation and cover board to steel and wood roof decks; the data sheet notes the drill point cuts through gravel and built-up roofing. It carries a cathodic epoxy e-coat and is listed in lengths from 1-5/8 in. to 8 in. The data sheet prints 15/15 Kesternich cycles per FM 4470, 800 hours of salt spray per ASTM B117 and State of Florida approval FL 20311, and states the fastener can be pre-assembled with metal or plastic insulation plates.
