Through the Roof! Roof Sealant
Through the Roof! is a clear, white or black synthetic co-polymer rubber elastomeric sealant for roof leaks, sold as a cartridge grade for joints up to 1 inch wide and as a brush grade in quarts and gallons applied 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick, which the maker says can go onto wet surfaces and in the rain. The product page lists uses on metal flashing, vent pipes, skylights, gutters, chimneys, roof jacks and gluing down asphalt, cedar, cement, slate and tile roofing, and rules out EPDM and other rubber membranes, foam insulation and silicone. Its technical data sheet states it meets ASTM C920 Class 25, lists a 30-minute tack-free time, a 0 to 140 degree F application range and a five-year shelf life, and carries a limited lifetime warranty limited to replacement or refund. The same data sheet prints the service range as -25 to 180 degrees F in one place and -30 to 200 degrees F in another, and lists EPDM among surfaces it adheres to but may wrinkle.
