The S-5-U ("U" for Universal) is a structural aluminum, non-penetrating clamp for standing seam metal roofs and S-5!'s most versatile clamp; the brochure says it fits about 85% of the standing seam profiles made in North America, including most structural and architectural profiles. It mounts on vertically oriented seams and, rotated 90 degrees, on most horizontal 2 in. seam profiles, held by patented round-point setscrews that dimple but do not pierce the seam. It is used with ColorGard snow retention and other heavy-duty attachments. The shorter one-setscrew S-5-U Mini is for lighter rooftop accessories and is not to be used with SnoRail/SnoFence or ColorGard. The clamp is compatible with most common metal roofing materials excluding copper, and all included hardware is stainless steel.
