SnoRail and SnoFence are S-5!'s brass rod snow retention systems for copper and lead-coated copper standing seam and batten seam roofs. SnoRail is a single-rod assembly: a 3/8-inch solid brass SnoRod passes through brass S-5-BSF clamps just above the panel seams, with brass couplings that keep rods aligned while allowing thermal movement and S-5-BE clamps at the ends and every 50 feet to stop the rod migrating sideways. SnoFence adds brass SnoPosts threaded into the clamps to carry a second SnoRod 2 inches above the first. S-5! rates SnoRail for light- and medium-duty use and SnoFence for medium-duty use, gives a maximum clamp spacing of 24 inches (closer for heavier snow loads), and says the clamps grip the seam with round-point setscrews that dimple but do not pierce it. The product pages tell buyers to contact an S-5! distributor for brass SnoRod, while the shared brochure marks the SnoRod as not supplied by S-5!.
