The S-5-N ("N" for nail strip) is S-5!'s non-penetrating clamp for 1-inch nail-strip (nail-flange) standing seam profiles, such as Taylor Metals' Easy Lock, ASC Building Products' Skyline Roofing and New Tech Machinery's FF100; S-5! points 1.5-inch nail-strip profiles to the S-5-NH 1.5 instead. Its angled wall and nose engage the overlap of the nail strip, and an insert placed against the seam base gives a best fit without damaging the seam, before two T-30 Torx round-point setscrews are tightened; one M8 bolt is included. The brochure describes a 6061-T6 structural aluminum body with 300 series stainless steel fasteners, made in the USA and compatible with most common metal roofing materials excluding copper. The standard clamp is for heavy-duty uses such as snow retention; the shorter one-setscrew S-5-N Mini is for lighter accessories and is not to be used with SnoRail/SnoFence or ColorGard.
