rooflite intensive is an engineered growing medium from Skyland USA for intensive green roofs, rooftop gardens, container gardens and planters. It is normally installed at a depth of 8 to 12 inches, can be combined with rooflite intensive base and rooflite drain for deeper root space, and supports ground covers, perennials, ornamental grasses, shrubs and trees. The line is offered in saturated weight classes 600 (60-70 lbs/ft3), 700 (70-80 lbs/ft3), 800 (80-90 lbs/ft3) and 900 (90+ lbs/ft3), numbered by typical fully saturated weight per ASTM E2399, and not every class is available in every region. rooflite soils are blends of graded porous lightweight aggregates (pumice or expanded clay, slate or shale) with USCC STA compost, sold by the cubic yard and delivered in bulk, super sacks or one cubic foot bags.
