rooflite extensive is an engineered green roof growing medium from Skyland USA for extensive green roofs in multi-course or multi-layer construction, used with rooflite drain or with a synthetic drainage layer. It is normally installed at a depth of 3 to 6 inches and supports hardy succulents and other drought-tolerant vegetation. The line is offered in saturated weight classes 600 (60-70 lbs/ft3), 700 (70-80 lbs/ft3), 800 (80-90 lbs/ft3) and 900 (90+ lbs/ft3), numbered by typical fully saturated weight per ASTM E2399, and not every class is available in every region. rooflite soils are blends of graded porous lightweight aggregates (pumice or expanded clay, slate or shale) with USCC STA compost, sold by the cubic yard and delivered in bulk, super sacks or one cubic foot bags.
